This area is the primary hub for visitors looking to experience the natural beauty and wildlife of Batang Serangan. It's where the majority of guesthouses and eco-lodges are situated, offering direct access to activities like elephant encounters and river tubing on the Batang Serangan River. The general layout is quite spread out, with accommodations located within the lush jungle landscape, often a short walk or drive from the river itself.

Couples often find this area great for a romantic and adventurous getaway. The secluded nature of many lodges, often with private balconies overlooking the jungle or river, provides an intimate setting. Activities such as guided jungle treks and swimming in the clear river waters are easily accessible, offering memorable shared experiences.

For travellers seeking a genuine connection with nature and local life, staying in a guesthouse within walking distance of the elephant sanctuary is ideal. These accommodations often provide a more rustic experience, allowing guests to wake up to the sounds of the jungle and easily participate in conservation-focused activities.

The best time to go to Batang Serangan is during the dry season, which typically runs from May to September.

For those planning wildlife encounters, particularly with orangutans, the dry season increases your chances of seeing them as they're more active and visible. The trails are also less muddy and easier to navigate, which is ideal for travellers looking for a comfortable and rewarding experience in the national park.
